Preschool Emergency Alert Response Learning System (PEARLS)

The PEARLS team will share valuable training, providing awareness and exposure to a new way of thinking, including options for acting in threatening circumstances by:

• Providing tools and resources for training staff, children, and educators
• Teaching concepts of Evacuation, Lockdown with Barricade, and Countering
• Training staff to evaluate environments, potential dangers, foster discussions, and encourage planning
• Providing knowledge for more effective decision-making in dangerous situations
• Encouraging collaboration with law enforcement to mitigate risk, shorten episodes, and save lives
• Promoting communication with children and parents to establish preparation and protection as priorities

Once confirmed, if you fail to attend or fail to notify the ELC of your absence at least 24 hours before the training, your ability to attend future trainings could be impacted. Priority is given to SR and/or VPK contracted providers. No walk-ins will be accepted.
